Heart rate variability (HRV) is a proven technology developed in the late 1990’s. There are over 4000 published scientific articles on this subject and its implications with peak performance and wellness.
Let’s calculate your pulse. If your average pulse per minute is 60 bpm, your heart is obviously not beating exactly once every second. There are micro variations between heartbeats which are as unique as fingerprints. Our technology allows us to analyze these minute differences. The heart beat is regulated by a part of the nervous system called the autonomic nervous system (ANS) which controls all body and mental functions. It has two parts, one which activates us (the sympathetic system) and one which slows us down (the parasympathetic system). It is only when the ANS is in perfect health that peak performance and maximum wellness occur. We concentrate on putting this important system into good working order.
Heart coherence (or RSA - respiratory sinus arrhythmia ) occurs when the two branches of the ANS work harmoniously together. It produces sinusoidal heart beat patterns. It is a natural process which originally allowed the organism to adapt quickly and efficiently to environment change (see Cro-Magnon & fight or flight). Traditionally mankind had periods of intense but short activity followed by a longer period of rest and relaxation to rebalance and regenerate his mind and body. Today this is rarely the case and the stressful way of modern life deregulates our bodies, not allowing sufficient recuperation. Stress causes chaotic heart beats and produces cortisol. Coherence creates rhythmic ones and DHEA. Stress is the major cause of the most current illnesses in the world today. By creating an intervention that covers the 3 entry points of performance and wellness we wil to help you create your original and optimum path for success.
