Miyamoto Musashi (a well documented samurai from the 17th century) epitomizes peak performance whatever our moral stance on his trade which was to kill people following a certain ethical code. For this outstanding person, peak performance (which for him amounted not just beating his adversary but also staying alive!) is the result a harmony between the body, the mind and the perception of the outside world.
His conception of combat turns around the notion of rhythm (beat, silence, opportunity to seize) with either an up going or down going  current that either gives you success or brings you failure. The trick is to know the patterns for success and to stop the patterns for failure (after all his life depended on his ability to do this - he was one of the rare samurai to never be beaten and to die of old age!)
Finding the flow or rhythm or coherence is a prerequisite for peak performance (we will deal with
wellness on another page)  requires daily training, a clear vision of the sense of one’s life and a real desire to reach for goals that you consider worthwhile.
Peak performance from a purely technical point of view is gained when the stakes are know, the time scale is decided, a rigorous planning that integrates the 3 dimensions of mankind and time sequencing is put into action.
Ultimate peak performance is gained when there is perfect harmony between the cognitive and emotional function in the brain. All the training in the world will never cater for the unforeseen of real action. All the training is performed so that the individual can have so much real confidence that during the match he improvises successfully to adapt to the real situation he has to deal with.
It is the ability to marry knowledge with desire, intuition with plans, beauty with movement. Peak performance is not a hazard and can be measured by using our heart rate variability measuring software and corrected using our multiple level heart coherence techniques and products.
